I’m pleased to say that all of our 16 trainees have undergone their first assessment for the Ready for Retail Award or Skill Accreditation Programme and have done very well. They have been gaining knowledge and skills in Health and Safety, Customer Care, Stock and Display, Recycling, Interviews preparation, Using a Cash Register and Basic Work Skills. We have collated evidence by taking photographs, observing or asking questions and these have been placed in the trainees’ personal portfolio.
I have noticed that there has been a significant increase in confidence in all of our trainees and they all have taken part in every task in the shop. Each trainee seems to have a favourite task that they enjoy. We are now starting to get a clearer picture of suitable areas of employment for each candidate or the next most suitable step on their employment path. All of the trainees seem to be enjoying their time in the shop.
